Who is "The Halloweenist?
It's you. It's me. It's everyone who has a year-around
special feeling about this wonderful, nostalgic holiday (even though we can't
always explain it to the rest of the world). So we simply relax and enjoy
Halloween, and things spooky, for the other eleven months too!
That's probably why you're here now. It's certainly why I'm
creating art for people like yourself throughout the year. And I guess that means we're Halloweenists
too!
What's in the Newsletter, you ask?
At left, you can see a greatly reduced image of page one of a recent six-page edition.
When you receive your eCopy, which usually arrives
the first week of each
month, my newest painting will often be the lead-off story.
Or you might see a section called, "Work In Progress," in which I share
with readers projects currently underway ... sometimes illustrated
with photos, at other times with sketches or interesting details.
Occasionally I request help from readers, as, a while back, while trying to come up
with titles for the spooky books I was placing on the shelves of
Judgment Before
The Dark Court. That request produced more than 500 of the funniest, scariest, most
bizarre book titles I've ever seen. Over 50 of them wound up in the finished
painting!
And then there's my occasional "Name The Painting" contest, which began because
I couldn't come up with a title worthy of the haunted treehouse painting I'd just
completed. Out of more than two hundred entries, "Midnight In The Treehouse Of
Good And Evil" said "hello." Wow! I would never have come up with that one! It
was perfect.
Winners of these contests receive a specially inscribed print, in appreciation
of their invaluable creative efforts.
And there's always The Disembodied Brain Teaser Of The Month,
in which you can compete for prizes as you match wits with The Haunted
Studio's devilishly devious "Ghoul Board."
You'll also get a look at a
commissioned spooky house painting
I've recently completed. (To learn more about these, click here.)
The
The Halloweenist will probably include an interesting story
as well. Perhaps it will a bit of Halloween history. Or the kind of
true haunted story that will send a little shiver down your spine.
I always include one or more
special offerings: perhaps
exclusive pre-publication pricing on a just-completed print subject, or a
very special deal on a combination of prints.
WILL YOUR NAME EVER BE USED IN A BAD WAY? NEVER!
I hate spam as much as you do!
Ugh!! Please be assured that my mailing list is
never sold, rented, or lent to anyone at all. Ever! It's resident on my own
computer; it's used only for The Haunted Studio... and
sparingly at that.
And finally, should you ever decide you no longer wish to receive The
Halloweenist,
just click the "unsubscribe" option that's prominent on this page...
and on every newsletter you
receive, and it will be done!
