"Last Laugh"

I'm unable to tell you exactly how this very spooky painting came to me... or came to be. It was lurking in the shadier recesses of my mind for several months before I finally began work on it. The painting, when I finally finished it, was rather a surprise to me. Had I gone too far? Was it too scary?

I've left that question (and others) to be answered by you who may be seeing it for the first time.

What's going on here? Who are these characters? What is the meaning of that strange apparition at bottom right? And what does the title tell you? I have my own interpretation, but I don't want to influence yours. There are many spirits hidden in and lurking around the graveyard, the hearse, and my spooky old house. It'll take you quite a while to find them all. If you can!

A few people have asked me if I could create a version of Last Laugh without the inset To accommodate them, I created a second version with the inset digitally removed. You'll see this image above. Unless otherwise specified, the original version will be sent.

Last Laugh has been meticulously scanned from my original watercolor painting and digitally printed with fade-resistant inks on specially treated heavyweight watercolor paper. I personally inspect your print, sign it, slip it into its protective clear plastic envelope, and include with it a page of helpful framing hints from The Haunted Studio.
