"Halloween Nocturne"

This is the Jack-o'-lantern I remember "Pop" carving for me when I was a kid, and which I, in turn, carved for our kids when they were small. Mmmmm. I can still smell the aroma of singed pumpkin. More than simply a Halloween painting, to me it's an evocation of the pleasures of the late autumn season, when the leaves have fallen, and one can lose a happy half hour contemplating the myriad colors on a dried ear of Indian corn... or revel in the incomparable aroma of a cup of steaming hot apple cider on a chilly night. Say! Come to think of it, those are a lot of the things I love about Halloween, too.

This subject began its life as a mid-size painting, and because enlarging a painting coarsens its details and textures, it is available only in Medium Format size.

Halloween Nocturne has been meticulously scanned from the original watercolor painting and digitally printed with fade-resistant inks on specially treated heavyweight watercolor paper. I personally inspect your print, sign it, slip it into its protective clear plastic envelope, and include with it a page of helpful framing hints from The Haunted Studio.
