Return to The Haunted Studio Home Page

This spooky painting began as a commission for Robert McG, who very kindly allowed me to offer prints of it to Friends Of The Haunted Studio. Like Tilted Angel, which was based upon an image in my client's mind, this work began with a set of photos Robert had taken, years ago, of a house whose unique character had impressed him. He asked me to place it, not in its original suburban setting, but on the edge of a cliff, in a night-time thunderstorm, with only its illuminated tower windows silhouetting the lone figure and a cat... watching. But not watching alone.
The result was this full-sheet watercolor painting, which, when it arrived at his home, elicited the sort of enthusiastic comments I so greatly enjoy receiving. He especially loves the ghostly figures that peer out of windows and from behind shrubbery, though you may not be able to see them in this view. Separately, though simultaneously, we titled this painting "The Watchers."
The Watchers has been
meticulously scanned from my original watercolor and is digitally printed with
fade-resistant inks on specially treated heavyweight watercolor paper. I
personally inspect your print, sign it, slip it into its
protective clear plastic envelope, and include with it a page of helpful framing
hints from The Haunted Studio.
