All is
perfect except (don't you love "excepts") could you remove the pumpkin
on the far left of the garage doors. I would prefer the eye be drawn to
color in the center of the picture. And, could you just put the
slightest tint of yellow in the three outside lights. I just think the
yellow "blush" would give warmth. The moon and sky is right on.
The first painting
(shown below) was completed in January, and I sent off a final scan.
Lew, it
is right on except where is the ghost on the right of the porch? And
are the eyes in place? I can not quite see them on this scan, but I
will take your word for it if you say they are there. I think they were
under the porch stairs, by the corner of the house and deck and in Tom's
work room next to the red door. There was something to the far left of
the garage. I can see Mrs Herald! As I say, if they are there, then it
is a go.
I
replied with a rollcall of the spooks, and shortly thereafter, I was
ready to ship Painting #1.
Lew, the painting arrived in fine shape. And old 12 thumbs (my father's
name for Tom) unpacked it perfectly. The painting is lovely. The subtle
shading and colors are much more apparent in the "real thing". The
picture has enough realism to bring all of us back to where we have
lived since 1976, mixed with just the right touch of spooky to add
interest. I appreciate your talent and skill. Thank you very much for
giving us this family treasure. And I must say, I love the red eyes!
The second painting
(the one shown above) was completed and sent off less than a month
later.
The
painting arrived today in fine shape. It is lovely and I am glad I do
not have to chose one. I think you did an especially nice touch on the
wispy ghost in the drive. And of course Mrs. Herald. I had to look a
bit but I did find old red eyes. Thank you for adding him ? her.
I
will enjoy both paintings for a while and then when both boys are
here this summer, they can fight out who gets what. That should be
interesting.

This painting was
chronologically the first one completed. I've referred to it as the
"Garage Side."
