abandoned old MacAbre mansion up on Cemetery Ridge... especially not when the moon is full. On such nights, it's claimed that strange music will be heard
emanating from the ancient organ that still sags the rotting floorboards of the
cobwebbed parlor, while the ghostly shapes of restless spirits, some say,
flicker behind the grimy windows and thump against the panes."

I don't know whether the old citation is true, but it wasn't long after I painted this faithful image of the old MacAbre mansion under a full October moon, that strange shapes began to emerge from the shadows I had painted the foreground and background, then the house, finally within the windows and elsewhere. By the time I had completed this watercolor, more than thirty restless spirits had populated it, and every so often a new one shows up! When you unwrap your print, some will be right there to greet you. Others will show themselves only after careful study. You may never find them all.
